"Our real friends, whose love and humor can lie dormant for stretches but doesn’t simply die, often go unappreciated. We owe them so much, and they are such a huge part of who we are, but we can often forget that as we construct our own lives. And we’ll surely make new friends as we grow — and are done stumbling into adulthood and everything that comes with it — but they won’t be a replacement, and we shouldn’t forget that. We owe it to ourselves to thank the people who have been there for us, and who remind us that we’ll always be worth more than just a handshake and an empty “we should grab a coffee soon."
A Thank You To Real Friends” (thoughtcatalog)

IT’S WEIRD…
that this is my last Christmas as a teenager…
and I’m about to start the next decade of my life.
I’m sad.
I was supposed to be a Christmas baby, but came late. It’s been 20 years since I was supposed to be born! Freaky deaky.
But to celebrate (though a little late just like I was!), here’s an old picture of Emily and me during the holiday season in the previous decade of our lives. :)
So here’s to the last few days of being a teenager, and another great (or hopefully just better) decade of my life.

Had a wonderful dinner last night with Pallavi, Amulya, Jessie, and Carolyn! CPK pizza, home made caesar salad, and THIS this cinnamon pull-apart bread. I’m now looking forward to messing around with the recipe to create different breads. This whole baking thing wasn’t as difficult as I envisioned.

A small collection of pictures from Westwood Class of ‘11’s graduation today! I’m so happy and proud of you guys. I can’t believe you all have graduated also because in my mind, you’re still little sophomores when in actuality you’re already college-bound. Crazy! But so happy for you guys, and I hope you all take advantage of the best summer ever. :)

It was a weird feeling being there as someone who had already gone through the process. A combination of elation, nostalgia, sadness, and surprise (due to how fast the administrators managed to get through the whole thing, holy crap!). It was especially weird to think that literally a year ago, I was there in their place, doing the exact same thing, with my future totally wide open in front of me and a carefree summer to look forward to. I can still remember exactly how I felt, how hot and oppressive the robes were, and all the pictures that were taken. Time really flies.

(Also a GPOY of Grace and me just because I really like us in that picture haha.)
